Sonoita AVA Day Trip

Sometimes, a day trip can be just as refreshing as a vacation, but how far would you drive for one day trip?

We had to drop off our RV in Tucson for warranty repairs, and decided we’d turn our day into a little outing. By the end of the day, we traveled 431 miles. That’s just like one long distance travel day!

How did we travel 431 miles in one day?

From Tucson we stopped at Copper Brothel Brewery for lunch. Then we headed into the Sonoita AVA to visit one of our favorite vineyards, Callaghan Vineyards. Along the way we stopped at Deep Sky Vineyard, a newer vineyard along the way.  We will visit them again. Our last tasting was at Lightning Ridge Cellars. They have a Great Dane vineyard dog.

Before we headed home, we had dinner at The Steak Out Restaurant & Saloon. It wasn’t our first time eating there, and probably won’t be our last.

Our next road trip: California…
