Texas Road Trip in May

We hooked up our RV and took our dog for a week in TX. On the way over there, we stayed in Wilcox, AZ for a little Arizona wine tasting. Wilcox is one of Arizona’s wine AVAs. It’s higher elevation makes it an ideal area to grow grapes. Wilcox is dotted with several tasting rooms. We are wine club members at Aridus Wine Company, so of course we visited them.

The next two nights we spent in historic Fredericksburg, TX. Fredericksburg is a located in TX Hill Country. We visited William Chris Vineyards for our second time. We really enjoy their wine and their vineyard is beautiful. We really enjoy Texas Hill Country. We will go back.

Of course we had to go see the Gulf of Mexico. It was beautiful out there, and we had the pleasure of enjoying some gulf shrimp while in the area.

Next we drove thru Luckenbach and Round Top, TX. At the time, Round Top was deserted, but we could see the shells of booths that fill up during the Round Top Antique Fair. Someday I would love to attend one of their fairs!!!

From there we headed up to Waco, TX to visit Magnolia Farms. Being an HGTV junkie, it was a must stop! That place was bustling with people. I was able to enjoy a cupcake from Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Silos Baking Co. It was delicious!

Our next stop was Lubbock, TX. Visited with some friends and one of the local wineries.

We spend our last night on the road in Flagstaff, AZ. We stayed at Black Barts RV Park. They have an onsite steak house and old west theater. At check in they told us if we want to eat at the steak house we should call to make reservations. Thinking that was odd, we headed straight over there. How busy could it be??? We were able to get seated right away. To our surprise, we quickly realized that all the servers performed during your meal! This turned out to be a great stop for our last night of our TX adventure.
